Profile

Welcome to MSU's Department of World Languages and Cultures. WLC is a department that takes great pride in its pedagogical methodology, language learning technology, faculty scholarship, and strong sense of community -- a department of which I am honored to be Chair. Please contact me for information on our many programs and course offerings: some language specific, some culture specific, some multicultural. We encourage study abroad! We are at the forefront of online partnerships with international institutions of higher learning! Above all, we are student friendly! Though my own primary areas are French literature and critical theory, I am also affiliated with the Medical Humanities Program (and have, on occasion, been found teaching psychoanalysis and the arts in the Psychology Department), I greatly enjoy introducing our current and prospective students to the rich and diverse curriculum of our nine language areas--French, German, Arabic, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew, and Russian--and to our extra-curricular departmental activities. I look forward to hearing from you!
