Tuition Waiver Application Process for Current MSU Students

Step One - Pre-Qualification

  1. Meet with your NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development Counselor (visit our Application Information page for program dates and deadlines) and obtain the following documentation:
    • Employability Development Plan
    • Workforce NJ Certification/Referral
    • Copy of your One Stop Career Center ID
  2. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the University for the 2009-2010 academic year
  3. Review the detailed email message from the Program Coordinator, and complete the online Tuition Waiver for Unemployed Persons Student Application.
  4. Once the above steps are completed, come to Morehead Hall - Room 132 to drop off a completed application for review.

Step Two - Application Review

  1. A completed tuition waiver application includes the following:
    • Tuition Waiver for Unemployed Persons Student Application (submitted online)
    • Employability Development Plan
    • Workforce NJ Certification/Referral
    • Copy of your One Stop Career Center ID
  2. The application will be reviewed and a decision rendered within 5-7 business days.
  3. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
  4. All decision notifications will be issued via MSU email.
