Alumni ID Card
Q: How can I get an Alumni ID card?

A: All graduates of Montclair State University are eligible to receive a printed paper alumni card free-of-charge. You can request a printed paper card by completing the Update Your Information form online or by calling the Office of Alumni Relations at 973-655-4141. NOTE: If you plan to use facilities such as Sprague Library or the Computer Labs, we advise you to obtain a campus photo I.D. card (there is a fee of $5.00 to cover the cost of the card). To do so, contact us for a printed card, once you have your printed ID card, visit the I.D. Card Office in the Student Center, First Floor (behind the Computer Lab), they are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please bring your printed card as verification of your alumni status. NOTE: In the event your photo I.D. card is lost, stolen or damaged, a replacement fee of $20.00 will be assessed in order to obtain a new card.

Class Notes
Q: How do I announce my news/accomplishments for classmates to see?

A: We invite you to post your news/accomplishments on our web Class Notes area or e-mail detailed information to the Office of Alumni Relations for possible inclusion in an upcoming issue of the Montclair State Alumni Magazine. In any case, we encourage you to post your announcement and photos for your classmates and friends to view here.

Career Directions/Alumni Job Bank
Q: How do I get my password for the Alumni Job Bank?

A: Please call the Office of Alumni Relations at 973-655-4141.

Diplomas
Q: How can I get a replacement Diploma?

A: If you have lost or misplaced your original Montclair diploma, or if you would like to replace your diploma with one bearing the name of MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY, you can order the replacement diploma from the Registrar's Office. An order form is available through the Office of the Registrar.

Email Addresses for Alumni
Q: Does Montclair State University provide lifetime email addresses for alumni?

A: No, but we are pleased to say that we will offer an email forwarding service through MontclairConnect, the new password protected online community. For more information on the launch, click here.

"Find A Friend"
Q: How can I get in touch with old classmates? Can Alumni Relations give me their address and phone number?

A: The privacy of our alumni is very important to us and we have a strict policy regarding these inquiries. We do not release personal information about our graduates. However, if we have current contact information for the person you are trying to find, we are happy to send them an email or a letter on your behalf with your contact information. This allows them the opportunity to contact you if they wish, while still maintaining their privacy. Email your "Find A Friend" request, or telephone 973-655-4141.

Official Transcripts
Q: How do I obtain copies of my transcript from Montclair?

A: Official copies of your MSU transcript are available from the Registrar's Office for a nominal fee. Request forms are available online www.montclair.edu/registrar/transcripts

Parking
Q: Where can I park on campus?

A: All visitors to campus are directed to park in the Red Hawk Parking Deck for a nominal hourly fee. The Red Hawk Deck is located to the left of College Hall. A campus shuttle bus is available to take you from the deck to your campus destination. If you have any questions about parking on campus, please see the Transportation and Parking Services home page or telephone (973) 655-5223.

Q: Why do I have to pay for parking?

A: In response to the budget cuts, MSU is dedicated to maintaining the high quality of all academic programs. This means that non-academic services must be self-supporting, therefore parking services must be covered by monies generated from those using the services. Please note that Montclair State University is easily accessible by public transportation (NJ Transit, DeCamp, etc.).

Pool/Recreation Center
Q: As an gradaute of MSU, can I use the pool or recreational facilities on campus?

A: Alumni can take advantage of the faculty/staff membership rate to the state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center on campus. In order to apply for membership alumni are required to obtain an alumni ID card. For membership information visit the Recreation Center Web site.

Requests for money
Q: Why does the University always ask me for money?

A: Throughout the history of Montclair State, current students have been supported by the generosity of alumni. In order to keep tuition costs as low as possible, additional funding must be provided by government funding, corporate partnerships and financial contributions to the MSU Annual Fund. The Alumni Association strives to be self-supporting through sales of MSUAA Memberships, proceeds from fundraising events, and revenue generated through our affinity partners.
