News & Notes
Homecoming '06
Despite another wet and chilly day, Homecoming 2006, which took place on September 30, was a success. Alumni, friends and family enjoyed the festivities, including the Student Activities-sponsored carnival and BBQ; the "Hooray for Rockywood" parade in the Amphitheater (photo below) and an exciting football game at Sprague Field. Montclair State posted a 27-7 Homecoming victory over The College of New Jersey in the 74th renewal of the oldest active collegiate football rivalry in New Jersey.

A Sense for the Centennial Celebration?
Do you have a sense for the Centennial spirit? As Montclair State University begins planning for its Centennial in 2008, the entire MSU community is invited to submit ideas for one of the most important aspects of the celebration  - -  the Centennial Theme!

You can help create a theme that exemplifies a century of the University's role in and continuing commitment to providing excellence in higher education in New Jersey. An example of the Centennial Theme might include: Montclair State University: 100 Years of _____________ (fill in the blank)

The Centennial Celebration Steering Committee will select the theme from those submitted, the theme will be incorporated into all Centennial events and materials.
All submissions will be placed in a random drawing to receive a $100 gift certificate to the University Bookstore.

Send your suggestions no later than Friday, Nov. 17 to 100years@mail.montclair.edu     Catch the Centennial Spirit!
