Fashion Studies (BA)/
What It’s About

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fashion Studies program focuses on the evolving field and multibillion-dollar industry concerned with the design, production and sale of fashion products.

Majors explore many facets including an analysis of consumer needs in regards to apparel and accessories and how those needs are met by a complex and dynamic industry. Upon graduation, students pursue careers in fashion manufacturing, merchandising, management, and/or marketing of products and services.

What You Will Study

The Fashion Studies curriculum includes coursework that examines textile and apparel manufacturing, fashion merchandising, retailing, and consumer action along with business practices such as marketing, administration, accounting and economics. Students also study nutrition and select from a wide range of art-making courses including figure drawing, fashion illustration, and costume and interior design, to name just a few.

Outside the classroom, majors benefit from full-time internships and cooperative education experiences with companies that develop, produce and promote fashion.
