February 2007 - Ballroom!

This 12 week dance experience for elementary school students was led by the Amy Marshall Dance Company. The dance-based pilot program was designed to expose young students to different styles of dance while developing an appreciation for the art form. The program culminated in a performance on the stage of Memorial Auditorium, as part of the Night of Stars with Bradford Academy, The University Magnet. Inspired by the documentary hit "Mad Hot Ballroom", the program will be introduced as a model to other schools.

Arts Voyage is made possible in part by FLEET, PNC Bank, the Independence Community Foundation, the Junior League of Montclair/Newark, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
