College of the Arts’ Career Services provides assistance to help students learn more about themselves; research careers; prepare their career plans; explore careers through experience-based learning opportunities (such as cooperative education and internships); plan for graduate school; and develop job search skills.

Whether a first-year freshman or a graduate student, there are steps a student can take now to create a career plan – through participating in individual and group career advising, attending workshops; and/or using our online tools. Career Services offers something for everyone at each step of the career planning process.

The College of the Arts’ Career Services office is located in Life Hall, Room 128A. Students may call 973-655-5194 to schedule a consultation appointment or come during drop-in hours to ask a quick question.

  • Internet Resources - Lists a variety of useful internet resources for company research, job hunting, salary information, government and non-profit employer information, professional associations, major or interest area sites and more.

  • Graduate General Resources - Provides graduate students with a wide range of information regarding finances, job hunting, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, managing your workload and more.

  • Employers - Provides information to off-campus employers interested in hiring our students for short-term work experiences, part-time and full-time positions and internships.

  • Center for Career Services & Cooperative Education - The central, university department that assists students and alumni with career counseling and resources to advance their career development.
