About the Galleries

Educational Programs and Services

Educational programs, including symposia,lectures and discussions with featured artists, hands-on workshops for children and adults, Saturday art classes, and school and community group tours, compliment exhibitions.

Past Symposia include: Alexander Calder Wall Hangings with keynote speaker Ruth Wolfe, former editor of Art in America; Contemporary Printmaking at the Crossroads with keynote speaker Andre Rebouli, Director of Pace Editions; Italian Photography after Neo-Realism with keynote speaker Dr. Anotonella Pelizzari, Professor of Photography at Hunter College.

Past Educational Workshops have included: Alexander Calder and Animal Mobiles; Alexander Calder Cultural/Historical Weaving Workshop - Textiles and Tradition; Indian Miniature Painting Workshop presented by Siona Benjamin; Childrens Book Reading: Goodnight Moon and The Raven.

Additional Programs have included: Public Telescope Night Viewing and Lecture by Dr. Mary Lou West; Roundtable Discussion with artists Ben Jones and Mansa Mussa; and Trace Your Genealogy with Teresa Rodriguez.
