Montclair State University's Cali School of Music and the College of the Arts welcome high school visitors to learn more about our programs. See below for special visiting days or to make an appointment to learn more.

Music Therapy Days 2011-2012

Learn about music therapy as a field and career choice, and about MSU’s program. Highlights will include opportunities for networking; options for class visits; and open discussion with the music therapy faculty. This event will be hosted by faculty and current students in the program. Visitors may come for all or part of the day.

9 am-10 am - Introductions, Overview of Field and Programs
10 am-10:50 am - Intro to Music Therapy Class
10:50 am-11:10 am - Break
11:10 am-11:50 am - Examples of MT in action/Video,
Questions and Answers
12 pm-12:45 pm - Tour of Building and Campus
1 PM-2 PM Lunch (Buy or Bring Your Own)

Brass Day
Sunday, April 1, 2012, 10 am to 9:30 pm
Cali School of Music, Chapin Hall

Featuring Eric Reed, hornist of the Canadian Brass

  • Cali School faculty clinics on jazz improvisation, warmup and practice techniques, audition preparation and more
  • Coachings of high school and college brass chamber groups in a master class setting
  • All participants will perform in the evening Brass Recital
  • Try instruments from Dillon Music
  • Plus the opportunity to attend a masterclass with
    New York Philharmonic concertmaster Glenn Dicterow
