GILL, VARCADIPANE HEADLINE NJAC ALL-ACADEMIC HONOREES

Montclair, NJ (6/26/08) – Field hockey senior Shannon Gill and classmate and football fullback Vin Varcadipane were each named to the First Team as the NJAC announced its 2007-08 All-Academic Team. Soccer standouts Natalia Sisti and Eric Pfeifer were named to the Second Team and were among the 47 Montclair State student-athletes selected Honorable Mention. A conference-record total of 411 student-athletes were named to the team. To be eligible for the squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum grade point average of 3.20.

BROWN SECOND, ASIMOU FIFTH AT NCAA OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Oshkosh, WI (5/24/08) – Freshman Will Brown came within six one-hundreths of a second of a national title in the 110 hurdles while junior Eugene Asimou placed fifth in the shot put as the MSU men's team placed 23rd at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
