STREAMAN, BOND NAMED TO ABCA MID-ATLANTIC ALL-REGION TEAM

Montclair, NJ (5/21/09)– Senior righthander Michael Streaman (right) and freshman catcher Kevin Bond were each selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team. The two helped MSU to a 26-19 record this season, a second-place finish in the NJAC and a berth in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament.

RED HAWKS SEASON ENDED BY ALVERNIA IN MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL

Lakewood, NJ (5/14/09) –The Montclair State baseball season came to a close on Thursday as the Red Hawks were eliminated from the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional with a 10-1 loss to Alvenia College at FirstEnergy Park. Mike Ercolano (right) had the lone RBI for MSU, which finished its season at 26-19.

MISCUE IN EIGHTH PROVES COSTLY AS MSU FALLS TO ELIZABETHTOWN IN NCAA MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL

Lakewood, NJ (5/13/09) – Elizabethtown College capitalized on a two-out error in the top of the eighth inning to break a 2-2 tie, as the Blue Jays defeated Montclair State University, 5-2, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament at FirstEnergy Park on Wednesday evening. Sophomore Jay Bionde and junior Scott Evangelist had RBI singles for the Red Hawks, while freshman Zachary Brown went 4-for-4 for Montclair State, which finished with 11 hits as a team but left nine runners on base.
