BROWN, ASIMOU WIN FINAL NJAC WEEKLY HONORS

Montclair, NJ (5/26/08) – After claiming All-American honors at the NCAA Championships this past weekend, freshman Will Brown (Gloucester, NJ / Palmyra) and junior Eugene Asimou (Livingston, NJ / Livingston) earned weekly honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference as the league handed out its final accolades for the season.

Brown and Asimou's ’s performances helped propel the Red Hawks to a 23rd place finish in the 81-team National Championship.

Brown earns the final NJAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week selection, his third of the season, after traveling to Oshkosh, WI to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships contested at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s J.J. Keller Field. He placed second in a field of 16 competitors in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28 to finish as the National Runner-Up and an All-American in the event.

Asimou earns the final NJAC Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week selection, his fourth of the season, after traveling to Oshkosh, WI to compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships
contested at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s J.J. Keller Field. He placed fifth in a field of 17 competitors in the shot put with a mark of 16.38 meters to earn All-American honors in the event.
