DiBENEDETTO, HENDERSON WIN SKYLINE CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS

Montclair, NJ (3/12/08) – Junior attack Marykate DiBenedetto (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) and freshman Kayla Henderson (Landing, NJ / Roxbury) were each honored by the Skyline Conference as the duo were chosen as the Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Both players helped the Red Hawks to a split in MSU's first two contests of the 2008 season.

For the week, DiBenedetto, Skyline All-Conference selection in 2007, had five goals, eight ground balls and five turnovers, including two goals and three ground balls against Drew. She then recorded three goals, five ground balls and three caused turnovers as Montclair avenged last season’s loss to Lycoming with a 15-13 victory.

Henderson earns Rookie of the Week honors after recording seven goals and an assist in her first two collegiate games. Henderson had three goals and an assist in her debut against Drew. She then scored four goals, including the game-winning goal, and added two draw controls a ground ball and a caused turnover in a 15-13 victory on the road over Lycoming.
