DiBENDETTO, KATZ EARN SKYLINE WEEKLY HONORS

Montclair, NJ (4/18/08) – Junior Marykate DiBenedetto (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) and freshman Talia Katz (Lower Merion, PA / Lower Merion) were both honored by the Skyline Conference on Monday as the duo were named the league's Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

DiBenedetto sparked Montclair State to a pair of wins as the Red Hawks improved to 6-6 overall and 4-0 in Skyline Conference play. DiBenedetto scored twice and added a career-best seven assists while forcing six turnovers as Montclair State downed Ramapo 17-1. She had five goals and an assist as the Red Hawks defeated Rowan for the second straight season, 13-9.

Katz helped Montclair State to the 2-0 week with a 5.00 goals against average and 15 saves. Katz made five saves and allowed just one goal in the win over Ramapo. Against Rowan, she made five saves, including two key stops in the final two minutes as Montclair State downed Rowan for just the third time in 16 meetings between the two schools.
