Communicating With The Search Tool

Once you have identified what to search for and have an idea of what tool to use to search with, it is helpful to understand the language that your search engine speaks.

With the exception of Ask.com, most search engines use Boolean Logic as their language.

The three basic operators in Boolean Logic are AND, OR and NOT.

These terms are best understood by looking at the Venn diagrams below.
