Online Citation Tools

Using online tools to create citations:

There are many online citation tools that require subscriptions, such as Endnote, Refworks and Procite. Your schools or library system may have a subscription to these, if so they are free for you to use. These tools allow you to export citations directly from your library catalog, and the ability to store your citations as well.

For this course, we will concentrate on free, web based citation tools that help you cite online resources as well. Noodle Tools and Source Aid allow for the creation of citation lists, they are free, but require that you register. Citation Machine is a tool that allows you to quickly and easily create citations for the various formats. Click on the links below to see how to use Noodle Bib, Citation Machine and Source Aid.
