Learn
to write a winning resumé and cover letter. Samples of effective resumés
will be discussed. - E-Resumes
Learn
to write a resume in ASCII text so you can be certain that what you send via the
web or email is what the employer receives. - Effective
Interviewing
Understand
the interview process, learn about typical questions employers ask, and understand
appropriate responses. - Practice
interviewing
with a friend
or use a tape recorder. Make an appointment with a counselor for a role play if
you think you need more help.
- Create
a rough draft of
your resume.
- Study
it, correct it, and redo it.
- Have
your resumé critiqued by a counselor in Career Development. Bring a typed
copy of your resumé to the office and ask that it be critiqued.
You may pick it up two days later.
- Or
bring your resumé to the office during counseling drop-in
hours for an in-person critique.
- Print
the final copy of your resumé using Career Development's Computer Lab.
