Faculty Scholarship Incentive Program (FSIP) The Faculty
Scholarship Incentive Program (FSIP) was created in 1994 by Dr. Richard
Lynde, Provost of Montclair State University in collaboration with our
local union, AFT 1904). The program was intended to create opportunity
for faculty not only to create release time from teaching duties in
which to enhance their scholarship but to allow faculty to be judged
for promotion in an academic cateory of their choice. The categories
were and remain: Scholarship of Teaching, Scholarship of Pedagogy, Scholarship
of Discovery and Aesthetic Creation, and Scholarship of Application.
The program has proven, over the years, to be a success not only for
individual faculty but for the institution. |
