Module 5

This section of the web site provides the viewer with the information needed to teach the five investigations that comprise Module 5.

The purpose of these investigations is to teach students to answer the fifth Essential Question:

Did the prevention strategy work?

And, in learning to answer this question, develop the fifth Enduring Understanding:

The effectiveness of a strategy can be evaluated by making and comparing rates of disease in populations of people who were and were not exposed to the strategy. Costs, trade-offs, and alternative strategies must also be considered.
