Global Images 2010:
Focus on China

Guidelines:
1. Entrants
- Photographs by MSU faculty and staff, active and retired or faculty and staff at international partner universities
- Each individual may enter up to five works.
- New submissions, not previously entered into the 2003- 2009 competitions.
2. Characteristics and Format of Entries
- The theme is China, which should be the subject of the work. There are no other limitations on subject matter.
- Entries must be submitted matted with white mat board with a 1½-2” border on all sides and are within the following size range:
- Minimum 8” X 10” Maximum 11” X 17”
Entries outside this size range may be submitted already framed but otherwise will not be framed, and should be submitted as they would be displayed.
- Each entry must have a label on the reverse top right side bearing your name, title of the work, place it was taken and the date of the picture.
3. Submission Procedure
- MSU submissions will be accepted at the Segal Art Gallery in the Red Hawk Deck
- January 26 and 27 (10:00 – 4:30) and January 28 (12:30-7:00).
- International partner university submissions by January 28 should be sent electronically to globalimages@mail.montclair.edu with minimum dimensions of 1600 x 2000 pixels in RGB or grayscale modes, in 8 or 16 bit depth, in either JPG or TIFF formats. Attachments larger than 10MB should be sent through a file sending service such as yousendit.com.
File name should be LAST NAME-FIRST NAME-IMAGE NUMBER, such as

name, image number, printed dimensions, title, year and place for each
image.
International partner university selections that cannot be printed from the
electronic file should be shipped by mail (as “printed matter/no commercial
value”) at the sender’s expense) and sent to the Segal Gallery, Montclair
State University, Montclair, NJ 07043. International partner university
submissions must be sent with return postage.
4. Judging and Announcements
- All entries will be judged by three experts in the field, and prizes will be awarded based on content and quality of the works.
- Selections will be announced February 5 by the Global Education Center.
- Works not selected for exhibition should be picked up from the Segal Art Gallery by February 12, 2010.
5. Exhibition
- Selected works will be mounted in plexiglass and exhibited in MSU’s Finley Hall Gallery
March 9 – 20, 2010
- Opening reception Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 5:00pm
