Montclair in London
Graphic Design International Field Trip
March 10-17, 2012

Program Overview
This spring semester course includes a seven day field trip to London, where the program takes advantage of its location to provide students with a wealth of experiences leading to an understanding of contemporary British design specifically, and graphic design within the global context in general. These experiences are enhanced through small-group tours of state-of-the-art design studios and museum tours. Field trips will include course-specific sites of both historical and current-day interest to all graphic designers. Participants register for Spring semester course “ARGS260 Visual Arts Workshop: Graphic Design in London 2012”.
Participants will be required to attend a series of orientation meetings prior to departure to discuss and prepare for sites to be visited as well as general preparations for overseas travel. A final meeting of the class will take place after the return to summarize our experiences and evaluate the trip.

London
London is a European center of the arts in general, and graphic design in particular. In addition to visiting some of the finest museums in the world, participants will have an opportunity to meet with the creative forces behind some of Britain’s most successful design companies and gain a unique view and interpretation of British design in particular, and European design and influences in general.
