Study Abroad Video Contest
The Study Abroad Office is seeking entries to our Study Abroad Video Contest!  It’s your chance to win up to $350!  We would like to use the best videos as part of our Study Abroad promotion on campus, to be shown at information sessions and other appropriate Study Abroad events.   Ideas may include, but are not limited to: before, during and after study abroad, highlights of study abroad, how study abroad has changed you/your outlook, making global connections, etc.  Use your creativity!

First Prize:

Video Requirements:

  • The video must be under ten minutes.
  • The video must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, defamatory, slanderous, or libelous.
  • The video must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred, or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.   Must be appropriate for use at campus events.
  • The video must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity, or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or license infringement.

Submission:

  • All entries should be submitted on a memory stick to Domenica Dominguez, Director of Study Abroad and International Programs, Global Education Center, 22 Normal Avenue, MSU, Montclair NJ, 07043.
  • Entries should be accompanied by a completed Entry Form.
  • Deadline for submission of videos has been extended to FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15th, 2010

Eligibility:

  • Open to all current and former MSU students who studied abroad while at MSU, on an MSU-approved program.
  • Students may submit more than one video for consideration, but can only win one prize.

Judging:
All judging will be done by staff of the Global Education Center and its designees.  Entries will be judged on:

  • Meeting the above requirements
  • Usefulness as a marketing and/or educational/informative tool for MSU Study Abroad
  • Quality of video
  • General “likability” of video (interesting, entertaining, clever, fun, deep, moving, etc.)

Winners will be announced in the Fall 2010 semester on the Study Abroad Website.  Additionally, all winners will be notified via email and/or phone.
All submitted videos become property of MSU Study Abroad Office to use in marketing endeavors.
