MONTCLAIR STATE UNIVERSITY UNIT of Physical Education, PANZER STUDENT ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION Class III
Article II PurposeThe name of this organization shall be the Panzer Student Association; a Class III organization of the SGA. Article III MembershipThe purpose of this organization shall be to:A. Foster a concern for progress in the field of physical education and advance the standards of the progression as set forth by professional organizations. Article IV DuesSection 1. EligibilitySection 2. Maintaining membership in good standing.A. All undergraduate, SGA fee paying physical education majors, both men and women, can be a member of the Panzer Student Association.A. Members must attend general meetings. Article V AdvisorsDues of $3.00 may be collected a the beginning of each school year. Those who donate $3.00 will be issued a P.S.A. membership card, entitling the holder to reduced fees at all Panzer Student Association functions. Article VI Expulsionary ProceduresThe advisors shall be a full-time faculty member in the physical education department. The said advisor shall serve in an advisory capacity only and shall not have a voting privilege. He or she shall be approved by the general membership present by a 2/3 vote. Article VII Vacancy in Executive BoardA. An officer may be removed from office by acting in contradiction or showing irresponsibility with the organization's functioning. Article VIII OfficersIf a member of the executive board cannot fulfill his/her term of office, the President shall, with the consent of the executive board and 3/4 approval of general membership present, appoint a replacement for the remaining term. If the President cannot fulfill his/her term of office, the Vice-President shall ascend to the Presidency automatically with all privileges of that office. Article IX Eligibility for Elected OfficeSection 1. Elected officersSection 2. Appointed by consent of majority of voting membership.A. President Article X Duties of Elected OfficersSection 1. For the office of President--candidates are required to have at least two full semesters' previous voting membership in the Panzer Student Association. Article XI MeetingsSection 1. Article XII VotingA. At least two general meetings shall be held each semester of the regular school year (September to June). Article XIII CommitteesOn matters requiring a vote, excluding elections, a simple majority vote of the voting members present at the voting membership meeting is necessary for action. Article XIV ElectionsCommittees will be appointed by the President at his/her discretion with approval from the general membership, or may be composed of volunteers from the membership. The committees' term of office shall expire immediately following the end of the regular school year. The committee chairperson shall be responsible for the actions of the committee and shall be directly responsible to the President. Article XV Amendments to the ConstitutionSection 1- At the end of March the President will select a committee for the sole function of drawing up a slate of candidates for the elected offices. This slate will be presented at a general meeting called in April for this purpose. At this meeting the general membership may formally nominate candidates for all elected offices, with the exception of the Freshman Class Representative. Article XVI Rules of OrderA. A committee shall be appointed by the President, with consent from the quorum, to study all proposed changes to the constitution. Article XVIIThe proceedings and deliberations of the Panzer Student Association shall be governed by procedures established in Roberts Rules of Order. Article XVIII- Advertising PolicyAll powers not expressed in this document are hereby delegated to the Student Government Association, Inc., of Montclair State College. This organization shall use only its full charter name (or a recognizable abbreviation) in its advertising for all meetings and events. All advertising shall state "Class III of the SGA, Inc." |
