TO: MSU FACULTY AND STAFF
FROM: THE CHARITABLE CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE
SUBJECT: MSU 2012 EMPLOYEES CHARITABLE CAMPAIGN
Our annual Campaign is now underway! The Employees Charitable Campaign is an effort of NJ state employees to raise funds for over 1,300 non-profit organizations that help people in our communities.
Hurricane
Sandy caused additional strain to non-profit agencies already challenged by the
increase of individuals they serve but with half the resources. In response to
the continuing challenges, the Employees Charitable Campaign created a new online
donation platform to assist the charities who have also adopted
non-traditional methods of fund-raising to fill the financial shortfalls—from
pleading for help via local news stations to increased communication to
previous donors. Montclair State
Employees have stepped up to the challenge of helping those that were less
fortunate. This is another opportunity to help during the upcoming Holidays. Donating to the MSU Employees Charitable
Campaign is an outlet that can help provide services such as emergency shelter,
a meal for a family who may have to go without, and the ability to have heat on
a cold wintry night.
Please go to www.njsecc.org and take a moment to review
the site and see how many organizations are listed. We think that you will find an agency to which
you would be interested in making a contribution. It’s a simple process: Choose
one or more organizations, go to https://www.giveattheoffice.org/_njsecc/ to pledge online, call
x4498 for a pledge card or send cash or check written to NJECC to the Office of
Employee Relations in College Hall 316B.
Our online platform will enable you to make your
contribution through a payroll deduction for whatever amount you select. You can also visit CO-316B and fill out the
Pledge Card form there or contact a Committee member and we’ll give you any
assistance you may need filling out the card.
It is our hope that offering the online platform will increase awareness as well as donations and we are finalizing the addition of a new fund solely for Hurricane Sandy relief in the near future. Contributions are tax deductible.
We hope that you will be able to make a contribution this year. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps. You can make a difference.
