Stephanie Brachfeld of Earth and Environmental Studies has received $9,676 from the National Science Foundation to fund a cooperative project between scientists in the United States and France to develop records of past geomagnetic field behavior from high southern latitudes. Anthony D'Urso of Psychology was featured in the January issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine. D'Urso, who is chair of the New Jersey Child Fatality and Near Fatality Review Board, was interviewed by Steve Adubato '80. Bryan Murdock of the Center for Community-Based Learning received $6,000 from the Township of Montclair for a project that provides tutoring and support services for students in the Montclair elementary schools. A literacy specialist will be hired to coordinate and evaluate the process, which will include Montclair State students as tutors paid through America Reads federal work study funds. * * * *
