More than 200 people attended a charity auction Jan. 12 in the Student Center Ballrooms to benefit scholarships set up in memory of a Montclair State student and alumnus who were victims of the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center: Shari Kandell, age 27, a part-time English major who worked in the Securities Lending Department at Cantor Fitzgerald, and Robert Hughes '01, age 23, who worked at Bank of America on the 83rd floor of the North tower.
