Fawzia Afzal-Khan of English presented a paper, "Exposed By Pakistani 'Street' Theatre: The Unholy Alliance of Postmodern Capitalism, Patriarchy, and Islamic Fundamentalism," at the 6th annual conference of the Association of Arab Women's Solidarity League held in Cairo. Afzal-Khan received a travel grant from the Global Education Center to attend the conference, which was organized by Nawal el Saadawi, a visiting writer at Montclair State.

George Antoniou of Computer Science was co-editor of a special issue of the International Journal of Computer Research titled, "Past, Present and Future on Neural Networks."

Huan Feng of Earth and Environmental Studies received $49,620 from Brookhaven National Laboratory/U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to support research and development of an overall dredged material management plan to decontaminate material dredged from the navigational channels in the New York/New Jersey harbor.

Adam Mayer of Career Services did an extensive Q&A in the Dec. 22 Herald News in which he offered helpful tips for job interviews.

Shahla Wunderlich of Human Ecology received $75,000 from the Hudson County Office on Aging to provide continued nutrition support services to the clients of Hudson County Health and Human Services. The services include menu planning, nutrient analysis, nutrition education and counseling. Graduate nutrition students will participate in this program, giving them experience in the field.
