and demand: The growing need for speech pathologists nationwide
With the U.S. Bureau
of Labor Statistics projecting that the nation will need about 120,000
speech-language pathologists by 2012 because of the increasing demand
and retiring workers, Montclair State is hoping to meet the need
through its master's program.

Assistance
program can help employees cope with stress
As a service to all classified employees, Montclair State has partnered
with CONCERN EAP (Employee Assistance Program), which offers assessment,
short-term counseling and referral, if necessary, to employees who
want assistance in dealing with stress from work or life problems.
Nominations
sought for Distinguished Teacher Award
Full-time faculty are invited to apply for the 2005 Distinguished
Teacher Award, created to acknowledge faculty members' dedication
to the art and craft of teaching. The recipient will receive a summer
stipend to prepare a course in his/her area of interest and expertise
that will be taught in AY 05-06.
Critically
acclaimed science writer to deliver Sokol lecture
Steve Olson, one of the
country's most accomplished science writers and author of Mapping
Human History: Discovering the Past Through Our Genes, will
address this popular subject on March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alexander
Kasser Theater.
