CSAM faculty explores opportunity for research facilities at Sandy Hook
It's been more than 100 years since Fort Hancock was established at Sandy Hook at the start of the Spanish American War. And while the 12,000 military personnel and civilians who populated the fort in 1945 are long gone, hopes are that the area once again will come alive, this time with faculty and students engaged in research and academic scholarship. Russians see how technology is used in American libraries
The frigid weather may have reminded them of home, but little else seemed familiar to five librarians from Russia who recently visited Montclair State as part of the Library of Congress Open World Program. The program is designed to bring Russian leaders to communities across the United States and expose them to American democracy and free enterprise in action. (Full Story and Photo)

Students let their feelings be known about state budget cuts
Students were passionate about voicing their opposition to state budget cuts to higher education at an open forum held last week in the Student Center Ballrooms. The event was organized by the Student Government Association (SGA) to protest Gov. James E. McGreevey's proposed 10-percent cut to the state college and university budgets. (Full Story and Photos)

Rainforest goes live in classrooms throughout the country
Panama's rainforest will come into United States classrooms this week, with live videoconferencing from a tropical forest research facility. Jacalyn Willis, director of PRISM, and Gregory Willis will present five sessions in both English and Spanish to classes in New Jersey and Texas this week. (Full Story)
