The venue was Newark's Penn Station for the Montclair State University Jazz Band, which provided some cool sounds for New Jersey politicians who boarded 20 Amtrak railroad cars Feb. 7 for the annual train ride to Washington sponsored by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. Middle school teachers get computers for their work
in improving science and math education

It was like Christmas all over again last week for 25 Newark middle school teachers who each received an Apple computer as part of a $2.5 million grant to improve mathematics and science education. (Full Story and Photo)

Presentation focuses on impact of terrorism
A presentation and panel discussion, "Shifting the Balance: The Impact of Terrorism on World Order," including the chair of the International Peace and Security Division of the Carnegie Corporation and the chair of the U.S. Army War College, will be presented Wednesday, Feb. 20.(Full Story)

Professor explores possibilities of exchange programs with Cuba
Edwin Lamboy of Spanish and Italian hopes the University one day will add another name to the list of more than 50 countries with which it enjoys exchange programs -- Cuba. In January, Lamboy participated in a week-long program offered by the Center for Cross-Cultural Study in Havana to examine exchange possibilities with the country that has experienced its share of political turmoil. MSU works with Ukraine in efforts toward educational reform
When officials from the Ukrainian Board of Education and Academy of Pedagogical Sciences wanted advice and feedback about educational reform, they turned to Montclair State. More accurately, then turned on Montclair State. (Full Story and Photo)

Century Project: Real women, real bodies, real issues
Photographer Frank Cordelle has taken issues surrounding women's health and wellness and stripped them down to their naked truth, literally. The Century Project, an exhibit of photography by Cordelle, features a series of 60 nude portraits of females, from birth through 100 years. The images, which will be on display Feb. 24 through 28 in the Student Center, Ballroom A, serve as a biological chronicle of women in their most natural human form. (Full Story)
