John Korky of Biology and Molecular Biology co-authored an article, "Geographic Variation in the Larvae of Bufo Calamita (Anura: Bufonidae) in the Republic of Ireland," published in the Bulletin of the Irish Biogeographical Society, the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin. The study dealt with the endangered natterjack toad. The article, co-authored with R. G. Webb from the University of Texas at El Paso, is the fourth in a series on Irish amphibians.

Judith Lin Hunt, dean of Library Services, has been elected president of PALINET, a multi-type library consortium in the mid-Atlantic region, whose membership includes more than 600 libraries, library systems, archives and other library-related institutions. PALINET provides educational programs and group subscriptions to electronic resources for its members.
