Campus travel and parking update

The following letter was sent by Elaine Cooper, director of Transportation and Parking Services, and University Police Chief Paul Cell:

The significant snow accumulations earlier this week have had an adverse impact on campus roadways, walkways, and parking lots. Physical Plant staff has been working around the clock since 2 p.m. Sunday to continuously clear these areas. The severity of the storm and its
significant snowfall made keeping up with snow removal difficult if not impossible until the storm was over. Grounds staff continue to work to clear snow and ice, and we ask for your patience and understanding as their efforts go on unabated.

We are aware of specific snow removal issues in the following areas: Lots 14, 17, 18, 19, 25, 40 and Clove Road apartments. These are being worked upon on a priority basis. If you know of any other areas needing attention, please advise us and we will pass this information on to Physical Plant.

Due to the need to maintain clear passage for emergency vehicles, regulations prohibiting personal vehicles from blocking roadways are being strictly enforced.

Thank you for your cooperation.
