explain how technology enriches international exchange
"Don't
Be Afraid." That was the basic message from last week's forum
on using technology to enrich international exchange in the classroom.
Kathryn Martell, associate dean of the School of Business, and Elizabeth
Emery of French, German and Russian talked about their efforts in
using technology to connect with students and colleagues abroad.

and have an opportunity to broaden their awareness of one of the
state's fastest growing industries at the University's third annual

Relations launches online community
Alumni now have more ways of staying connected
with the University and each other through a new online community
that debuted last week. The site features a searchable alumni directory,
a business directory, class notes, information on reunions and chapters,
a photo album, a discussion board, postcards and more. (Full

mourns loss of Bennie Benson
A memorial service was held last week in East
Orange for head track and field coach Gerald "Bennie"
Benson, Jr., 36, who died Feb. 20 of a heart attack. A funeral was
held in Pittsburgh, Pa., where Benson was raised. (Full

Board
seeks faculty representative nominations
Every two years a new faculty representative to the Board
of Trustees is elected by and from the tenured and tenure-track
faculty of Montclair State University. The current faculty representative
is Jack Baldwin-LeClair of Legal Studies, whose term will end May
31, 2004. Interested faculty can submit their names or nominate
colleagues for a two-year term beginning June 1. (Full

A trip down Memory Lane...

While construction isn't an unfamiliar sight on
campus these days, this photo was taken many moons ago. If our sources
are correct, the work being done is to build the Harry A. Sprague
Library, which opened in 1963.
