Richard Gigliotti, dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, has resigned from Montclair State to accept the position of dean of Arts and Humanities at Texas A&M--Corpus Christi effective July. "Dean Gigliotti has accomplished a great deal in the three and one-half years since he arrived at the University and I am certain that he was the right person at the right time to provide leadership for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences," said Provost Richard Lynde. "The ultimate measure of success of any administrator is whether or not he left his unit stronger than he found it, and in Dean Gigliotti's case the answer is a resounding 'Yes.' " A search for a successor dean will begin immediately with the intent of filling the position this summer. If that is not possible, Lynde said he will appoint an interim dean and continue the search. The Couch Agency is offering an insurance plan to MSU employees
in the event of a disability. The underwriting company, UnumProvident,

the age of 60. For those under the age of 50, the current maximum income
benefit is $3,000 per month. For those between the ages of 50 and 60,
the current maximum income benefit is $2,000 per month. The program is
voluntary and premiums can be paid for through payroll deductions. For

Results of all parking citation challenges are now being sent by e-mail to the person's mail.montclair.edu address in an effort to reduce the response time. The Office of New Student Experience and the New Student Experience Advisory Team are asking the campus community for input on this year's summer orientation theme. During orientation, Montclair State will welcome more than 1,600 freshmen and 1,200 transfer students and their families. Past orientation themes include "Your Passport to Success" (2003), "Discover the Treasures of MSU" (2002), "Unlock a Whole New World" (2001), "Planet MSU" (2000) and "Putting the Pieces Together" (1999). Themes should be 10 words or less. Ideas, catchy phrases or pictures for the logo should be submitted by March 8 to www.nse@mail.montclair.edu. Prizes will be awarded to the person who submits the selected theme. The formal address for the University has been changed from Upper Montclair to Montclair. The zip code remains the same. Please make the appropriate change in correspondence. Faculty and staff are asked to use existing stationery until supplies have been depleted. Sprague Library now offers a Graduate Student Research Assistance
Service designed for graduate students who are having difficulty finding
materials for a research project or would like to find additional materials.
It allows a graduate student to request a one-on-one meeting with a reference
librarian who can help the student identify the most appropriate resources
and services for the research project and discuss research strategies.
