PharmFest gives students chance to learn
about careers in one of the state's top industries

Fact: Fifteen of the 20 largest drug companies in the world have major facilities in New Jersey, including the headquarters for five leading U.S. pharmaceutical corporations.
Fact: New Jersey's labor force includes more than 18,000 biologists, chemists, chemical engineers and medical scientists.
Fact: Many of these companies are participating in Montclair State's PharmFest on March 28--an excellent opportunity for students to learn about the future of the industry and hear firsthand how to succeed from professionals with a wide range of experience.(Full Story)

Students get world view from international scholars
Two international professors are giving students a world view of learning that they just couldn't get from a textbook. And the visiting professors, Srikummar Chattopadhyay, a senior research scientist and lecturer at the Centre of Earth Science Studies in Trivandrum (Kerala), India, and Maria Teresa de la Garza, a professor of philosophy at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, say they are both sharing and gaining knowledge in the classroom. Pennington elected president of national association
Karen Pennington, vice president for Student Development and Campus Life, has been elected president of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), the leading student affairs association in the country. (Full Story and Photo)

Governor names President Cole to Education Cabinet
Montclair State President Susan A. Cole was named Feb. 21 to Gov. James E. McGreevey's Education Cabinet. Signaling the top priority education will hold in his administration, McGreevey said the Education Cabinet will be responsible for ensuring that students receive the education they need to succeed in a 21st century workplace. Celebration recognizes black achievers
Fourteen people described at Montclair State black achievers were recognized for their contributions and achievements at a Feb. 26 ceremony, "Capturing the African Spirit Through Strength and Unity." (Full Story)
