Art professor remembered in exhibits
The University Art Gallery, the Department of Art and Design and the School
of the Arts will celebrate the life of the late Suellen Glashausser in
three collaborative exhibits featuring her work.
Glashausser, a professor of Fine Arts at Montclair State for 26 years,
passed away in December 2000. "Her art--from bookwork to drawing
and painting to sculpture--is an expressive fantasy world of colors and
images woven into an oeuvre of intelligence and good will," said
Teresa Rodriguez of the Art Galleries.
Glashausser's work can be seen at the Montclair State Art Gallery from
March 4 through April 11, with a reception March 7 from 4 to 6 p.m.; at
the Amos Eno Gallery in New York from March 6 through April 3; and at
the John Cotton Dana Library at Rutgers University in Newark from April
12 through July 2, with a reception April 12 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Doh! The Simpsons do Macbeth' on
March 10
What do you get when two of the world's most supremely dysfunctional families
meet? You get the exclusive appearance in the tri-state area of Rick Miller's
hilarious "MacHomer: The Simpsons do Macbeth," a smash hit around
the world.
This one-man vocal spectacular comes to Memorial Auditorium as part of
the Great Events Series on Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m.
The play is a solo spectacular by Canadian Rick Miller and features more
than 50 voices from TV's favorite family in a hilarious rendition of Shakespeare's
bloodiest tragedy. Miller switches between characters and voices with
breathtaking deftness to recreate the tragedy of "Macbeth."
The story and 85 percent of the lines are Shakespeare's, but the characters
are all drawn from Matt Groening's stratospherically successful television
series, where Homer stars as Macbeth, Marge as Lady Macbeth, Mr. Burns
as King Duncan and Barney Gumble as MacDuff.
"MacHomer" is embarking on its first major U.S. tour in 2002.
The show has been a smash hit in major festivals and theaters on three
continents, and has sold out venues in England, Scotland, Australia and
Canada.
Find out why the Los Angeles Times raved: "The performance
couldn't be better. From the first moments
the laughs are continuous.
He's an amazing talent."
Standard tickets are $20. Call the MSU Box Office at 973-655-5112.
MSU hosts Russian American Kids Circus
The Russian American Kids Circus will swoop into Memorial Auditorium on
Friday, March 15. The show begins at 7 p.m.
Filling the air with a blur of spectacular acrobatics, the Russian American
Kids Circus dazzles the audience with flying trapeze, unicycling, juggling
and other exciting acts, blending old world artistry with state-of-the-art
equipment.
The Russian American Kids Circus is a breathtaking spectacle performed
by boys and girls ages 6 to 16. These accomplished performers have been
trained in the heart of Brooklyn by veterans of the famous Moscow Circus.
Tickets are $15. Call the Box Office at 973-655-5112.
University arranges for collection of old
computers
The Purchasing Department, in conjunction with Information Technology
(IT), Physical Plant and Environmental Health and Safety, will arrange
to have an authorized contractor dispose of no longer usable computer
equipment in an environmentally sound manner.
Departments wishing to have computers removed should contact the IT Help
Desk at 7971 to ensure that University data on the machines and software
licensed to the University are removed. A Disposal Requisition Form must
then be completed and returned to Environmental Health and Safety at 30
Normal Ave.
Michael Stoffer, inventory control supervisor, should be given the equipment's
make/model, serial number and red MSU asset tag. Stoffer can be reached
at 7619.
After all University information has been removed by IT, the department
must submit a work order to Physical Plant to collect the computers and
take them to the computer storage area.
The computers will be collected from the storage area on a quarterly basis.

Correction
In the Feb. 4 issue of INSIGHT Online, a picture of Band Director
Mary Ann Craig in the Photo Gallery incorrectly stated that the Symphonic
Band, Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble's international tour in May will
include performances in Ukraine. The band will tour only in Russia, with
performances in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Saratov.
