  - The 2002-03 Montclair State Fact Book can be viewed at www.montclair.edu/pages/vpbpit/fact_book.htm. There are several new tables and figures: Figure 1.4 County of Origin of 2002 New Jersey Freshmen; Figure 1.5 County of Origin of 2002 New Jersey Transfer Students; Table 4.10 Graduation and Continuation Rates for New Jersey Community College Transfers; Figure 4.5 Distribution of Montclair State Alumni Residing in New Jersey; and Figure 4.6 Distribution of Alumni Residing in the United States.

- The deadline for Outstanding Student Employee Award nominations has been extended to Wednesday, March 19, at 4 p.m. in Morehead Hall, Room 337. Forms are available at www.montclair/edu/pages/CareerServices/Career.html under the "What's New" section. The awards reception will be held April 14 from 10 to 11:15 a.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms. For more information, call Adam Mayer at 973-655-7245.

- On Feb. 28, President Susan A. Cole sent a letter to the campus community encouraging all members to feel free to participate in the various venues on our campus for sharing thoughts and ideas. Click here to read her letter on tolerance and campus dialogue.

- The Women of Montclair State University will award two $500 scholarships to qualified students during its annual Spring Reception on April 29. Application forms are available at the information desks in the Student Center and College Hall; the Financial Aid Office; the Drop-In Center; and the Sprague Library Reference Department. - The American Federation of Teachers (AFT)-Local 1904 will award six $500 scholarships from the James P. Keenen III, Joseph T. Moore, Anita E. Uhia and Connie Waller Scholarship Endowment Fund. Application packets are available from Linda Turano in the AFT office, College Hall, Room 318 C. The deadline is Thursday, April 3 at 4 p.m. For more information, call Turano at 973-655-4453.

- The deadline to withdraw from a course with no academic penalty has been changed to March 19. All requests to withdraw must be submitted in writing to the Registrar's Office. Students may fax a request to 973-655-7371, they may mail a written request or they may complete a withdrawal form, available in the hallway outside the Registrar's Office, College Hall, Room 204. Written requests to withdraw may be submitted during non-office hours through a mailslot in the office door. Requests to withdraw faxed to the office or put in the door slot before 8:30 a.m. March 20 will be accepted as meeting the deadline. Requests sent through the U.S. mail must have a U.S. postmark no later than March 19 to be processed.

- The campus bus stops for New Jersey Transit and DeCamp buses are now located at the Red Hawk Deck along Heating Plant Way. The buses no longer stop outside College Hall. Timetable information is available at www.njtransit.com and www.decamp.com.

- The North Essex Chamber of Commerce Foundation is offering a scholarship opportunity to an employee or dependent child of a Chamber member who is planning to attend a technical school or college next fall. For 11 consecutive years, scholarships have been awarded to deserving, well-rounded students based on a balance of academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, educational goals and financial need. Because Montclair State is a Chamber member, employees and their children are eligible to apply. Those interested should call Marie Looney at 973-655-4398. Applications must be in the Chamber offices by April 1.
