WORTH QUOTING... "Sept. 11, if you remember, was a crystal-clear blue, dry day, and now the whole season has been like that over and over again. It's like being stuck in a time warp time isn't moving forward the way it normally does." William Solecki of Earth and Environmental Studies in a March 10 article in The New York Times headlined, "When Good Winters Go Bad: Enjoy the Sunshine, but There May be a Price to Pay." A special spring education supplement in the April 14 Star-Ledger highlighted
several Montclair State programs. Here are quotes from a few of those
stories: "Get families involved right from the start. Returning to school is a family affair." --Ricardo Ortegon, director of the Center for Adult Learning in an article headlined,"Older Students: The New Trends." "We feel the area (Monmouth and Ocean counties) is underserved when it comes to higher education. Our full-fledged M.B.A. program will serve a real need." -- Alan Oppenheim, dean of the School of Business, in an article headlined, "Graduate Students Master New Fields." "At Montclair State University, for example, there are many summer sessions from which students can choose, including day and evening classes for graduate and undergraduate students, says John H. Leffler, director of Summer Sessions and Special Programs...Leffler estimates that 6,500 students take advantage of Montcalir's Summer programs..." From an article headlined, "School's 'in' for Summer." "Montclair State University has taken the leadership in sponsoring this event because we have a long tradition of preparing students for careers in New Jersey pharmaceuticals." -- Gov. James E. McGreevey talking about PharmFest in an article headlined "Governor praises pharmaceuticals, MSU."
