MFA thesis exhibit on display in New York The exhibition includes multi-media work, paintings and installations by Montclair State's second graduating class of master of fine arts degree students. Participating students are Shannon Bellum, Jiana Kim, Robert Kleinschmidt, Hisayo Kushida, Mary Jo Nemeth, Elaine Schnoor, Fran Shalom, Larushka Tilley, Betty Vera, Tracy Waaka and Lee Allen Wells. The exhibition is curated by Dominique Nahas, visiting critic-in-residence. In the exhibition catalog Nahas writes: "Informed truth-seeking
in the service of poetic visuality has been the royal road taken by this
group of artists...The range of sensibilities is as varied as the materials
used and the techniques and methodologies applied...Audience involvement,
if not participation, has been given strong priority but never to the
detriment of focused, individuated (and often private) visions." Nahas describes his experience at Montclair State as "fulfilling and enlightening." "It is safe to say that these new MFAs will be ready for everything, imaginatively speaking, that the future holds in store for them."Renew library books electronically To renew online, visit the Circulation Department home page, select the Book Renewal link and follow the instructions for submitting the form.
