Forozan Farhat, 25, who earned a bachelor's degree in political science, is one of six Afghan women to graduate this year from U.S. universities as part of the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women. As a supporter of the program, Montclair State provided Farhat with a full scholarship for her education. Under the Taliban Afghan women were not allowed to go to school after age 8. The other women who graduated this year were from the University of Montana, Kennesaw State University in Georgia and Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
