Professors who make a difference

We asked graduating seniors to name a professor who made a significant impact on their academic careers or in their lives. Many had trouble naming just one, and while we can't list all the responses, here are a just a few:

"Wayne Bond [Speech Communication] helped me realize my potential as a communicator. He got me to open up and realize what I can do." -- Joe Greco

"Dan Bronson [English] is different from many other teachers in the way he presents the material. He is passionate about what we study, and he brings his humor and experience into the classroom. He's also taught me that it's OK to take life a little easier." -- Wendy Tiburcio

"Jay Mahoney [Management] is understanding and caring...but strict! She taught me a lot about business theories and public speaking." -- Wanda Padilla

"Sue Weston [HPPERLS] was a great help to me. Not only does she know a lot, but she is funny as well. I came here from Bavaria, Germany five years ago and my mother came from Germany to see me graduate today, which, in a special way, is due to Sue. She is great."--Christine Schoenhuber

"Carl Bredlau [Computer Science] was the best teacher I had. He has a great sense of humor and his teaching style is wonderful." --Justyna Swidkiewicz

"Carl Bredlau was always lively in the classroom. I learned a lot from him. What Carl taught me will no doubt help me as a graduate."--Demetris Souroullas

"Mark Weinstein [Educational Foundations] encouraged me to continue beyond my bachelor's degree to go for a master's degree in education and critical thinking. He always pushed me to do my best." --Shakisha McCray
