A family affair... Above, senior theater major Sean Rowe of Maryland gets help from parents Nancy and Ron moving his belongings into The Village at Little Falls while, at left, senior physical education/dance major Victoria Laruccia of Syosset, N.Y. gets help from her dad Paul settling in. About 850 students have moved into The Village at Little Falls, the University's newest and largest residential facility. Each apartment has many amenities including full-size diswasher, electric range and refrigerator, central air-conditioning, cable television and high-speed Internet access. The four residence halls are named after famous New Jerseyans Alice Paul, Millicent Fenwick, Count Basie and William Carlos Williams. The state-of-the-art recreational center is named after comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. The complex also has an outdoor pool, a half-court basketball area and a police substation on site. The campus community is invited to a ceremony celebrating the opening of The Village on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. (Click here for more photos of The Village at Little Falls.)

We're talking names, that is, and this year’s class of 1,631 students covers the entire alphabet from A (Aakash) to Z (Zoe) with Michael being the most popular male name and Jennifer being the frontrunner in female names. But one thing's for sure: this class has more than your average Tom, Dick and Harry. (Full Story)

Students dig into research at Feltville
You're driving toward the Watchung Reservation, stuck in traffic that snakes up Route 78, heading into a region of New Jersey not too far off the beaten track in Union County where the present fuses with the past. The sign ahead reads "Cataract Hollow Road," the entrance to Feltville. You park your car in the gravel and step into a deserted village that once housed a 19th-century industrial utopia, which later became a middle-class resort. Today, Feltville/Glenside Park is the site of Montclair State University's Historical Archaeology Field School. (Full Story)
