Huan Feng of Earth and Environmental Studies has received $5,000 from the New Jersey Sea Grant College program to fund research using Geographic Information System to study pollution sources in the Passaic River System.

Naomi Liebler of English discussed Shakespeare's Sonnet 29 and John Donne's The Flea with students in an English class at the Livingston Alternative School. Her visit was part of the school district's participation in the New Jersey Network for Educational Renewal.

Donna Lorenzo of Health Careers received $234,624 from the U.S. Department of Education to fund the first year of a four-year Upward Bound Program that will hone the skills and generate motivation of low-income and first-generation American students to enroll in and complete a post-secondary education.

Ira Sohn of Economics and Finance had a letter to the editor published in the Sept. 25 Financial Times in London. The letter was headlined, "Time for developed world to liberalize trade in agriculture."

Conquistadoras by Carlos Vega will hit bookstores in December.

Carlos Vega of Spanish and Italian has several upcoming books being published: Spanish for the Prisons, in November; Conquistadoras: Mujeres heroicas de la conquista de America, in December; and Learn Spanish the Right and E-Z Way, in the spring. Vega also is the author of The Truth Must Be Told: How Spain and Hispanics Helped Build the United States and Docementos politicos fundamentales de Estados Unidos (America's Charters of Freedom in English and Spanish).

Eric Weiner of Early Childhood, Elementary and Literacy Education had a letter to the editor, headlined "A Private School that Thrives on Rules," published in the Sept. 27 New York Times.

Shahla Wunderlich of Human Ecology received $4,400 from the Bergen County Division of Senior Services to fund nutrition education services at senior activity center nutrition sites in Bergen County.

Michael Zey of Management recently has been interviewed by many media outlets, discussing topics from the impact of the retirement of the baby boomer population on the United States and global economy, and the future of NASA's space shuttle program, to the Expansionary Theory of Human Development and the economic impact of Superlongevity. In print he's been in the Christian Science Monitor, Gente magazine, New Jersey Business, The Star-Ledger, The Seattle Times, The Times of India and on Reuters News Service, among others. He's also been heard on the radio on Moody Broadcasting's "Primetime America," Knoxville, Tenn.'s WYIL-AM, Illinois' WMAY-AM and Seattle's WZOK, in addition to several television appearances.
