Construction is progressing on four new residence halls located on the 30-acre tract of land across the road from Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls. The complex is expected to be completed next summer and will include stylish apartments housing approximately 850 students. It also will have a recreation building with a swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, and a police substation. Click here to see an artist's renderings of the completed project.

Awakenings author to share his boyhood memories
Oliver Sacks, world-renowned neurologist, humanist and author of the best-selling book Awakenings, which inspired the popular movie of the same name, will deliver the first Margaret and Herman Sokol Science Lecture on Oct. 16. (Full Story and Photo)

Discussion continues on University's strategic plan
A revised draft of the University's Strategic Plan was made available last week, bringing Montclair State one step closer to finalizing what Provost Richard Lynde describes as Montclair State's blueprint for the future. (Full Story)

Montclair MidTOWN Direct line gets official launch
President Susan A. Cole joined Gov. James E. McGreevey and officials from NJ TRANSIT at Montclair's Bay Street station last Monday to launch the Montclair MidTOWN Direct line, which takes commuters directly into New York's Penn Station. (Full Story and Photo)

Students have an advocate in ombudsperson
Montclair State University now has an ombudsperson, and he's a familiar face on campus. James Harris, associate dean for Student Development and Campus Life, has taken on the role of ombudsperson, the individual students can turn to with a problem, question or simply to get a better understanding of a University policy or procedure. Faculty, students, alumni participate in geographers meeting
Faculty and students from Earth and Environmental Studies will be joined this weekend by geographers from across the state, Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York when Montclair State hosts the Middle States Association of American Geographers annual meeting in the Student Center. (Full Story)
