The Red Hawk Diner will hold a second anniversary celebration on Thursday, Oct. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. Join the festivities. Students are invited to participate in the diner's Meal Equivalency Test Market Nov. 3-9. Students can use their meal plans during this time with one swipe per person, per check, per evening for $3.80. In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Act, the 2002 crime statistics for Montclair State are available on the Web at www.montclair.edu/pages/campussafety/securityact.html. The deadline for fall 2003 Global Education Grant proposals is Friday, Nov. 7. For more information, call 973-655-4185. Ricardo Ortegon has assumed the responsibility of director of the Center for Adult Learning and Academic Advising. Career Development has become part of the University Advancement Division. Carolyn Jones, director of Career Development, no longer will serve as associate manager to the Office of the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management / Retention Services. Although Career Development is no longer part of the Academic Success Center structure, the office will continue to reside in Morehead Hall. The Health and Wellness Center is offering flu shots to faculty, staff and students for $15. The meningitis vaccine also is available for $90. To make an appointment, call 973-655-4361. Don't forget to turn back your clocks at 2 a.m. Oct. 26 as Daylight Savings Time ends. Adjunct faculty can now park in restricted employee lots after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. Restricted lots are 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 17, and 42. Interested adjuncts must bring their hangtags to Parking Services in the Red Hawk Deck to have a new permit affixed to the hangtag prior to parking in any restricted employee lot. Parking Services is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with extended evening hours Mondays and Thursdays until 7 p.m. Adjunct faculty with parking decals will need to obtain a hangtag as well. The State Health Benefits open enrollment period will end Oct.
31. During October, employees can enroll in any of the plans offered,
change to a different health and/or dental plan, or add eligible dependents
not previously enrolled. Employees also can enroll in the Tax Save Program,
which includes the unreimbursed Medical and Dependent Care Spending Account.
The Tax Save Program can save employees tax money by paying health and
dental benefit premiums and eligible reimbursed medical and/or dependent
care expenses from before-tax dollars. There is no premium cost to any
employees who enroll in NJ Plus. Employees pay 5 percent of the premium
cost if enrolled in an HMO or 25 percent of the premium cost if enrolled
in the Traditional Plan. More information is available at the Benefits
