Janey DeLuca of the Child Care Center has received $53,124 from the U.S. Department of Education to fund the third year of a program subsidizing child care for low-income students as an incentive for them to complete their education at Montclair State.

Susan Skalsky of Wellness Services received $13,533 from Capitol Outcomes Research, Inc. to support a study of the level of immunizations for Hepatitis B in Montclair State undergraduate students between the ages of 18 and 25 without written evidence of prior Hepatitis B immunization or a prior history of the infection.

Norman Stock of Sprague Library had his poem, "What I Said," which originally appeared in Poetry After 9/11: An Anthology of New York Poets, published in the fourth edition of Poetry, an Introduction by Michael Meyer (Bedford/St. Martin's, 2003), a widely used college textbook.

John Wooten of the Center for the Arts received $15,893 from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts to help support culturally diverse and interdisciplinary presentations of music, dance and theater. He also received $23,542 from the Council to support TheatreFest, the professional Equity theater-in-residence at Montclair State. The funds will support the Regional Playwriting Contest, the Apprentice Program and the six educational initiatives under the TheatreFest for Kids umbrella, which provide free arts training and performances for 1,000 at-risk and special needs children.
