A Night to Remember

Opening Night of the Alexander Kasser Theater on Oct. 7 was a gala event as members of the University community, the family that made the theater possible and the evening's performers celebrated the new facility and the new vision for arts programming at Montclair State. Pictured above, Mary Mochary, daughter of the late Alexander Kasser and Mikhail Baryshnikov toast the theater along with MSU President Susan A. Cole and School of the Arts Dean Geoffrey Newman. A generous gift from the Mochary/Kasser family supported construction of the theater.

While theatergoers were enjoying the performance of "Forbidden Christmas or The Doctor and The Patient," the Kasser Theater lobby and outdoor area were transformed for an elegant post-performance supper.

The paintings displayed in the lobby of the Alexander Kasser Theater are part of a collection donated by Dr. and Mrs. O.K. Cosla. Pictured are the Coslas' niece, Claudia Cosla, left; her cousin, James, right; James's wife Violet, front; their son, Michael, back left, and his wife, Debbie.
