If you're looking to get a glimpse of the talent of the faculty in the Department of Art and Design, stop by the M.F.A. Gallery in Finley Hall, which is hosting a two-week exhibition of faculty works. Paintings, sculptures, jewelry, photographs, cast metalwork and more are among the 28 pieces created by 22 full-time and adjunct professors. (Click here for a listing of the work and artists.) Second-year M.F.A. student David Dziemian, the show's curator who helps run the gallery, said students and faculty alike have looked forward to the show. "The professors are excited to show the students their work and the students always want to see what their teachers are doing so we can see their tastes and skills," he said. "Part of being an artist, which most of the faculty are, is showing your work. This is a chance for professors to expose the students they are teaching to their work and to see what their colleagues are doing. It's all part of the artist's mind. We're always curious as to what the next person is doing and how we can react to it." Throughout the year, the M.F.A. Gallery exhibits student work and Dziemian is making sure this year the space always has a show. "It was kind of hit or miss last year," he explained, "but this year I want to make sure there is work exhibited all the time." Others who worked on organizing the show are students Matthew Reciniello, Rabiya Kapadia, Michael Bober, Louise Davis and Department Chair John Czerkowicz.
