Alumna Named to Board of Trustees

President Susan A. Cole announced that Christine L. Padilla '93, '99 M.B.A. of Park Ridge, a business owner and computer consultant with extensive corporate experience, has been appointed to the Montclair State University Board of Trustees.

"Christine Padilla has put her Montclair State education to good use in a successful career," said Cole, "and we are delighted to have her back at the University, this time in the role of trustee."

Padilla is the owner of BIT Solutions, LLC, a technical communications firm in Park Ridge that specializes in technical documentation, Web design, training material development, SOP writing and usability reporting and recommendations.

From 1996 to 2004, she was senior manager, Corporate Online Communications, for Berlex Labs, Inc. of Montville, a subsidiary of Schering AG, Germany. In that role, she created corporate online communication plans; designed and maintained the Web site presence for Berlex.com; was the U.S. representative and decision maker regarding Intranet usability; chaired a global team assigned to formulate a cost-benefit analysis for a major technology investment; managed a Web-based development budget; and established and had oversight for Intranet style guides, departmental Web sites and developer/user communities-in-practice. She was manager of Corporate Training for Berlex Labs from 1999 to 2001 and manager of Client Services Support from 1996 to 1999.

Padilla is a member of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners and the Society of Technical Communications.

She took her Oath of Office at the University's Board of Trustee meeting Sept. 8.
