State recognized for
exemplary work in internationalization
Montclair State is one
of 16 institutions recognized by NAFSA: Association of International
Educators as doing exemplary work to internationalize the campus.
The designation is the result of a competition held this summer
by NAFSA to identify best practices in campus internationalization.

Department awards $200,000 grant
to reduce violent crimes against women
It was about two years ago when a student came
to Donna Barry at the Health and Wellness Center looking for help.
The student had been sexually assaulted, but didn't want to be taken
to an emergency room hospital for a forensic examination. "We
did not have the full gamut of services to assist this student,"
said Barry, the director of Health Services. Today, however, things

Honors
Program offers academic and social enrichment
When asked to describe the qualities of
an Honors student, instead of trying to construct an accurate description,
program Director Tom Benediktsson came up with a better way to get
the point across: He placed a book down on the edge of his desk
and said, "This is a novel written by a 16-year-old high school
student who is coming here to join the Honors Program. Her second
book is coming out soon. She plays 12 musical instruments and she
wants to be a doctor." (Full Story)
Athletics
inducts 31st Hall of Fame class
Five former Montclair State athletes will be inducted
as the 31st class into the Athletics Hall of Fame at a ceremony
Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Valley Regency in Clifton. The
new class brings the total number of inductees to 168. Read what
